Enjoying teatime together with family and friends while sharing stories and having fun is a form of happiness in itself. This is the kind of happiness that SariWangi wants to share with orphans and the poor through the SariWangi Berbagi Kebersamaan program.
The program is a collaboration between Unilever Food Solutions and several participating restaurants in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. Every order of tea sold in participating restaurants during Ramadhan is converted into a contribution for orphans and the poor.
“UFS’ goal in holding this event during Ramadhan is to share the solidarity with our friends in the orphanages. We wish to bring camaraderie to them with SariWangi,” said Aisha Hutami Anjani, Operator and Portfolio Marketing of Tea Unilever Food Solutions.
Five restaurants participated in this program:
- RM Ampera Bandung
- HDL 293 Seafood Bandung
- Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar Surabaya and - Jakarta
- Mang Kabayan Jakarta
- Empek-empek Ny. Kamto Yogyakarta
A total of 44 branches of various restaurants joined the SariWangi Berbagi Kebersamaan program.
“This is a good program because it enables us to share during Ramadhan. Several customers also appreciate the program and support it. We think that this program should be held again next year,” said Agatha Mey, representative of Restoran Mang Kabayan Jakarta.
The profit from the sale of SariWangi tea at the participating restaurants during Ramadhan was collected and given to orphans and the poor in the cities of Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya.
Several of the orphanages that received the charity were Panti Yatim Indonesia, Jakarta; Panti Asuhan Tambatan Hati, Bandung; Panti Asuhan Wiloso Projo, Yogyakarta; and Panti Asuhan Yatim Putri Aisyiah 1, Surabaya. The donation was given between June 12th – 17th 2019.
“We truly support this program and the children were really happy to join this event too. The sembako given is also a big help for us. Hopefully, this program can be held across wider areas. If it is four this year, hopefully it becomes eight or even more for next year,” said Syaiful, the representative of Panti Yatim Indonesia, Jakarta.
