Sharing with SariWangi during the Month of Blessings
A sharing program has lots of benefits. During these special and festive months, this program will spread goodwill and happiness to everyone.
Ramadhan is the month of blessings, especially for owners of culinary businesses as the number of customers tend to increase during Ramadhan and other festive days. During this time, care programs held will usually bring people together to contribute to the less fortunate. That is why the SariWangi Berbagi Kebersamaan event was held.
Restaurants that joined the program were given the chance to do some good for the community. Each order of tea sold during Ramadhan was turned into a contribution for orphans and the poor.
“We support this program because through the event, RM Ampera can help the others. We hope this program can be held regularly and that we can join in the next one. Hopefully, every glass of tea sold for charity can bring good to others” said Takwin Saptaji, the representative of Rumah Makan Ampera’s owner.
Five restaurants participated in this program:
- RM Ampera Bandung
- HDL 293 Seafood Bandung,
- Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar Surabaya and Jakarta
- Mang Kabayan Jakarta
A total of 44 branches of various restaurants also joined the SariWangi Berbagi Kebersamaan program.
“We are happy to join this program. Firstly, we can share with others through it. Secondly, we received support from Unilever Food Solutions in the form of utensils, such as glasses, spoon, and tissue,” said Hamami, Supervisor of HDL 293 Seafood.
According to Hamami, SariWangi has been useful in serving customers during Ramadhan as the increase in customers for HDL 293 during festive days can be more than 100% compared to normal days. SariWangi made the serving of tea quicker while still giving customers a consistent flavor.
Tea has always been a favorite during the breaking of fast, a common occurrence everywhere, including Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar.
“Tea is a favorite beverage for break fasting in our restaurant. SariWangi is really helpful when serving tea as the order increases during Ramadhan. On normal days, we serve around 200-300 orders a day to customers. During Ramadhan or other festive days, it can be as many as 400-500 orders a day,” said Didik Saputra, Supervisor of Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar Bukit Mas, Surabaya.
The same thing happened to Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar Jakarta in Meruya. When the time came to break fast, around 80% of the customers ordered tea, be it hot or iced. During Ramadhan, Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar typically hires extra help to make tea to fulfil all the orders.
Layar Seafood & Ikan Bakar is also a supporter of the sharing program, as they routinely hold such events. By joining the program, they can serve delicious tea to customers while doing some good.
The profits from the sale of SariWangi tea by the five restaurants during Ramadhan will be collected, and UFS will donate them to orphanages in Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. The donation event was held between June 12th-17th 2019.
