If you have a gift shop or are thinking of opening one, you should know the importance of properly packaging your shop’s offerings. If the products in your store are soft or crumbly, special protection is necessary to ensure that they keep their shape until they make it to their destination. Here are great packaging options to keep your oleh-oleh protected.
Airless jar
If you produce various types of pastries or crisps, airless jars are very suitable as it reduces exposure to air. Remember to be careful when delivering them – pack the contents as close together as possible and close the jar with a tight seal. Add a thick bubble wrap or cardboard to protect the jar from breaking.
Bottles and cups
This form of packaging is suitable for powder or liquid souvenirs such as drinks, pasta, sambal or other instant seasoning products. Make sure the cap is sealed properly and firmly and use an expedited delivery service if they have to be sent out of town.
Thick cardboard boxes
If you sell brownies, sponges, and other moist cakes, using thick cardboard boxes is highly recommended. Try to ensure that the shape of the cardboard fits the shape of the cake as closely as possible to minimise shifting during transport.
