  1. How to Make Betawi-Style Sampyok Chicken:

    • Marinate the chicken with lime juice, ground pepper, and chicken powder. Let it sit for about 30 minutes.
    • Sauté the sliced spices until fragrant. Add the spice paste (except peanuts) and continue sautéing. Add the whole spices and continue sautéing. Add the ground roasted peanuts.
    • Add the chicken and mix well. Pour in the coconut milk, stir, cover, and bring to a boil. Adjust the seasoning. Simmer until the chicken is tender and the flavors are absorbed.
    • Grill the chicken over charcoal or on a grill pan, basting with the remaining sauce. Serve with accompaniments.
